Falkland Islands Association Sub-Committee (FIASC)
The FIASC was set up in the Falkland Islands In December 2016 at the instigation of the FIA Executive Committee (EC) to represent the FIA in the Falkland Islands; please see the list of FIASC members below.
The main purpose of the FIA sub-committee in the Falklands is to assist in promoting the FIA within the Falkland Islands by generating greater awareness of the FIA’s role in the UK and elsewhere in supporting the Falkland Islanders’ right to self-determination. The FIASC’s main activity is to encourage members of the local community to take up individual and/or corporate membership of the Association. It also advises the Association on ways in which the FIA can be more relevant to the resident community of the Falkland Islands so that the FIA can become more effective in its role. Without strong local support, the FIA would be less credible as a lobby group working in support of the Falkland Islanders.
