SS Great Britain: ’50 Years Back Home In Bristol’ Film Release: ‘Falkland Islands To Bristol An Extraordinary Journey’ – 1 July 2020

The SS Great Britain, as part of its 50th Anniversary commemorations of Brunel’s ship being successfully transported from the Falkland Islands to the shipyard at which it was built in Bristol, has released a film about the voyage.  The film ‘Falkland Islands to Bristol An Extraordinary Journey‘ is available through any of these links, on YouTube, or from the SS Great Britain Website.

The SS Great Britain Trust would like to thank the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their funding towards the 50th Anniversary programme, and for their flexibility and understanding that their programme looks quite different from the original plan!

The outdoor Photographic Exhibition is still open and Harbourside drinks and snacks are available from Wednesday to Sunday 11.00 am to 5.30 pm for those able to visit while maintaining social distancing rules and following current government guidelines.

Future events to mark the anniversary are still planned, these will include a Penguin Trail.
